Annually, a huge number of old workstations continue to be stacking in dumpsters. Many Computer users are buying computers with capabilities that significantly exceed their use. The purpose of the project was to achieve high grade applications with a low cost solution for computer users, corporations, schools, and developers. This could be implemented using old computers refurbished with efficient operating systems. This hypothesis might be achieved using open-source software that focuses on a small foot-print OS with a smart Kernel of high security resources, besides using low system resources and, most significantly, without altering the hardware. The experimentations performed to test this hypothesis included testing the difference between our relatively old and cheap systems with new and expensive ones. In addition, a survey was conducted to determine the computer categories utilized by users. Testing of operating systems and software platforms were carried out hundreds of times to check the validity of the hypothesis. Finally, heavy duty applications in our systems were installed to test their reliability. It is concluded that the best usage platforms of old computers are Cloud-web browsing, servlet and developing platforms. The application of this efficient, yet simple, solution covers a large volume of hardware that the society seeks to get rid of in a creative manner.
